In
our mission with the sick as Religious
Nurses, we
stand-up for quality
care, moved out of love and
compassion and with a sense of direction: to alleviate the pain
and sufferings of the sick and lonely. Focusing on a holistic
approach, we take into consideration the patient’s physical, spiritual
and emotional needs, regardless of their social status, race, religion
or illness.
Many
of our Sisters are registered, licensed vocational or certified
nurses, or are training to become nurses in their future ministry.
Several are Eucharistic ministers, praying and offering words of
consolation to their patients and family members in the uncertain
moments of illness.

The nursing program
includes:
.:
Day and night service, preferably in the patient's own home
.: Visiting nursing
.: Hospital nursing
.: Nursing in dispensaries and out-patient
clinics
.: Nursing in homes for chronic and convalescent
patients
.: Missionary work
When
a Servant of Mary goes out to the bedside of the sick during the
day or night, she reaches out to those who suffer, including their
families, while not depriving them of the comfort of their home.
When she enters their home, she is Mary’s servant who sees in them
the image of the suffering Christ and is aware that it is Jesus
she serves in the person of her patient, offering quality care and
nursing abilities, but above all, the presence of God. In this way,
the patients are able to discover Jesus in every Servant of Mary,
visiting and healing the sick through the witness of her love.
The
Servant of Mary is strengthened in her apostolic ministry by her
intimate union with God through contemplative prayer, the Holy Eucharist,
community life and her profound confidence in Mary. |
