FRATERNITY OF LAY SONS AND DAUGHTERS
OF SAINT MARIA SOLEDAD IN PUEBLA
The first group of Lay Sons and Daughters of Saint María Soledad in the Province of theUnited Statesbegan in our Community inPueblaon March 15, 2006. It was a small group who desired to participate in the spirituality and charism proper to the Servants of Mary, Ministers to the Sick. After having received the appropriate formation in the knowledge and spirit of our holy Mother Soledad and of the mission of the diligent and gratuitous car of the sick entrusted to us by the Church, Fátima Hernández, Angélica Martínez, Blanca Martínez, Leonor Cervantes, Patricia Romero and Verónica Hernández made their commitments during a para-liturgy on November 14. Mother Alfonsa Bellido, then Provincial Superior, was present to welcome the first Lay Sons and Daughters of Saint María Soledad. In 2007 Sister Martha Alicia Guzmán was named as the Coordinating Sister for the group and is in charge of their ongoing formation. This group began participating in our liturgical feasts of the Congregation, holding weekly meetings, monthly retreats and little by little became involved in our apostolate with the sick by visiting them and offering them a few hours of their time according to each one’s possibilities.
