FRATERNITY OF LAY SONS AND DAUGHTERS
OF SAINT MARIA SOLEDAD IN LEON

One of the fruits of the Lay Fraternity of the Sons and Daughters of Saint María Soledad is the entrance into the Seminary of three young men who belonged to the fraternity.
The Fraternity of Lay Sons and Daughters of Saint María Soledad in the Community of León, Mexico began shortly after the group in Puebla. On the first Saturday of January, 2007, Sister Luz María Batres, Coordinator of the group, began meeting with three young men, Jorge Ibarra, Juan Gerardo Cruz and Juan Rodríguez, to form them in the spirituality of the Congregation and of this lay group. In the following months Sergio Felipe Chávez, Francisco Javier Mancilla and José Antonio Collazo joined the group. With time the group has grown considerably and is currently the largest existing group. The fruits of the group include three young men who have entered the seminary after becoming members of this lay fraternity. On August 14, on the vespers of the Assumption into Heaven of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the 160th Anniversary of the foundation of our Congregation, 25 members made their official commitment. On the same day one of them entered the Seminary in the Diocese of León.
