About Us

Our congregation was founded on August 15, 1851 in Madrid, Spain by St. Maria Soledad Torres Acosta. She was a saint of great vision who plaed iher complete trust in God and instilling within her daughters this same spirit of love. We go out to the abandoned, sick and dying, discovering the face of Christ in all we serve with the sole desire of alleviating the suffering of others for the love of God. Our mission is to care for the physical and spiritual needs of the sick, preferably in their own home environments, free of charge. This we believe is the
uniqueness of our mission and calling.

Since the foundation of our Congregation, we have continued to provide quality caer for those in need, carrying out our ministry of mercy nad compassion in the 117 convents worldwide, including Europe, South, Central and North America, with missions in Cameroon, Philippines and Mexico. Today the Servants of Mary include 2,000 Religious Sisters, who united as a Religious Family, carrying on Christ mission of healing, just as Mary in the Visitation (Lk.39-45).

We go out to help others as Mary’s servants, bringing our Lady's renewed hope, love and joy to those who we serve.

The life style of the Servants of Mary includes:

  • Gratitude and Faithfulness to God

  • Contemplatives in Action Through a Deep Prayer Life and Eucharistic Adoration

  • Abandonment to Divine Providence
  • Loving Devotion to the Virgin Mary
  • Strong Community Life
  • Fidelity to the Church and the Holy Father
  • Gratuitous and Compassionate Service to Those That Need it Most.
