Consecrated Life
SPIRITUALITY OF THE SERVANTS OF MARY
Our religious life is a state of life in which we consecrate our entire being to the service of God and to His glory in a permanent form and in fraternal community life, ordained to the pursuit of perfect charity, living in the spirit and practice of the evangelical counsels (ET 1).
- Our religious consecration is fulfilled by virtue of the profession of the public vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience and is rooted in our baptismal consecration. This religious consecration, insofar as it is a total gift of self to God and an agreement to live exclusively for Him, demands of us that we renounce the world, leaving all in order to follow Christ, our one necessary good.
- As an external sign of consecration, we always wear our religious habit, both within and outside the convent.
